SPACE RAT (2018)
A short but sweet game made in Adam Le Doux's Bitsy engine about a Space Rat and a missing lunchbox.
I started this game as a self-challenge to learn Bitsy in 1 week and I managed to complete the first "level" in this time. I picked up this project again in the summer and managed to complete it! Learning the Bitsy engine was very fun. It was really simple, and every single tile, sprite, and avatar was 8x8 pixels. I approached Bitsy with its tiling system in mind, but I also wanted to do some cinematic moments and get creative with the limited color palette.
Fun fact: Space Rat was first a stop-motion animation project that I did in Spring 2017. The plot was very game-ish, and people told me they wished it was a real game so they could play it. Now, you can! Below are some screenshots from the animation and a zine that accompanied it.
